Beautica is a project to create transparency in the management and facilitation of non-profits. I am aware that there is management software in existence for non-profits and voting platforms but they cost money and don’t incorporate voting into every major decision instead focusing on electing officials to run the non-profit. Beautica will focus on allowing administrators to easily upload packets of information for voting by all donors or just the board of the non-profit. These packets of information could be audio, video, or text and represent decisions that need a vote. The platform will also track all donations and income collected by the non-profit as well as expenses paid out so that donor/members can see that the non-profit operates in a transparent manner.
Phase one of the Beautica project is to develop a prototype of the platform for rural Venango county in Pennsylvania. The Beautica non-profit will facilitate a fund designed to deliver solar installations to members at 0% interest. The details of this fund can be found below and once this model is operational it can be offered to other counties to facilitate a similar fund. All members will pay a $20 per year membership fee to have access to the platform and this fee will be tracked through the platform to show totals collected. Anyone can pay $20 to become a member of the platform by creating a profile and the monies will be used to build out the platform to more users.
We will focus on applying for grants to go to the fund to supply solar panels at low risk and 0% interest. Each county’s solar fund website will have a page for local business to have advertisements. Administrators will be able to upload a businesses logo and advertisement easily through the platform and monies collected will be used for the solar fund. This creates four avenues of revenue for the solar fund: donations, membership fees, grants, and advertisements.
Phase two of the Beautica project will focus on the urban Allegheny county in Pennsylvania. Members of this county will be encouraged to upload a copy of their electricity bill showing they buy green energy from their provider. Members who buy green energy will receive benefits to offset the extra cost of green energy. We will reach out to local businesses to see if they will provide green energy users with 10% off one meal per month and other discounts at businesses such as a free cup of coffee per month. Beautica will look into whether these businesses can take these donations off of their tax burden since Beautica is a non-profit.
Members will receive a QR code or similar technology that they can take to their local businesses to redeem their benefits. They can track how much money they saved each month in rewards for switching to green energy in their account. The idea is that if someone pays $25 more per month for green energy but they are able to redeem $35 per month in benefits from local businesses, then more people will switch to green energy. This also empowers the business community to help more people transition to green energy.
Phase three of the Beautica project focuses on an innovative way of expanding high speed internet to rural areas. It relies on something I’ve termed the 300 bananas argument. A free market economy relies on people having a social contract for the free exchange of ideas. For many decades this contract meant that people would pay for a public utility telephone in their house. Society believed that there should be a published directory of people with a telephone in their house and this information was public information. People had to pay extra to keep their number “unlisted” or unpublished.
The social contract implied that anyone could call my house with the most innovative idea at any time and I could pick up the telephone and hear it. Sure scammers and telemarketers could call and try to trick me but I could also unplug the phone or not pay the public utility to install one in my house. Most people answered the phone just in case the next big idea dropped into their lap.
The reason why voice services should be a public utility and by association the internet is where the three hundred bananas come in. Say a farmer gives me three hundred bananas, I should be able to pick up my telephone and call three hundred of my neighbors and say “hey do you want a banana for 99 cents?” That is a free market economy. The way the system is set up with privatized calling services is that I may be able to make 300 calls the first day, but then I’m flagged and can only make 100 calls the next day, and 20 calls the next, until I may be limited to only one call or none at all. That is not a free market economy, it is an economy highly manipulated by technology controlled by a few Billionaires.
Nobody likes getting robocalls and they tend to prey on the elderly. We have the technology to identify whether someone is using a computer to put out hundreds of calls or whether someone is hand dialing 300 calls per day. If voice was a public utility facilitated by a transparent model we could make sure that this technology was used properly. If the internet is not facilitated by a transparent public utility we do not live in a free market economy but rather a regime of corporate communism.
Therefore if we merge electricity distribution and internet distribution into two equal public utilities for each county or region there are many benefits. The costs of maintaining the utility lines can be managed transparently and potentially cut costs. A more intelligent strategy can be developed for expanding solar energy and high speed internet.
It is common practice for the electricity company to pay out customers with solar panels at the end of the year for the energy their property generated if it was more than they used. With an electricity public utility and an internet public utility they can work together to promote green energy. Each month a customer generates more electricity than what they use their internet bill could go down accordingly. The electricity company can sell the electricity generated to other customers and come to a mutual agreement with the internet utility to pay some or all of the bill for the property. If solar panels could give people free electricity and free high speed internet many more would switch.
These are the goals of the Beautica project. Facilitating a transparent non-profit to offset green energy costs in a rural county and an urban county. Building similar pages for other counties that want to join in the program. Once viable, opening the platform up to any non-profit that wants to be transparent. Promoting the idea of public utility electric and internet county by county and region by region. Facilitating a transparent platform for the administration of these public utilities. Your $20 donation will go toward accomplishing these goals. Thanks.
The Beautica project has a goal of expanding green energy in both rural and urban areas. The first phase of the project is to form a non-profit to oversee a fund that rural homeowners can pay into. In addition to homeowner payments, fundraisers will be administered to raise money for the fund. The Beautica fund will be used to distribute solar panels to homeowners at zero percent interest and very low risk to their credit score. In order to organize members of the Beautica project, a website will be developed that will act as a blueprint for other counties and regions to use for similar funds.
The Beautica project will be as transparent as possible with members being informed of all decisions and challenges the project faces. Money paid into the fund by homeowners will be tracked so that the homeowner will receive an energy system equal to the amount they paid or will pay into the fund. Homeowner money will be specifically reserved for the fund and fundraising will be used to develop the website and other costs.
The reason Mitch is starting the Beautica project is because he spoke with a friend that works at a small independent solar company that said their installations cost half of the major solar companies. The issue with the small independent solar companies is that they are not able to finance the jobs, which is where the Beautica project comes in. The project initially will focus on the residents of Venango County Pennsylvania.
There will be factors considered when distributing the solar panels that can be voted on by members of the fund such as when did a homeowner join and how much have they paid into the fund. Primarily what we are looking for are properties that have a yard where a solar array can be located near ground level. This saves homeowners needing to put on a new roof before they receive a solar array and should drive down installation costs.
Once homeowners are chosen for an installation they will enter into an agreement to make payments into the fund at zero percent interest to pay off their solar array. The second reason for locating the panels near ground level is ease of transfer of the panels. If a homeowner doesn’t make their scheduled payments for two months in a row the fund will pay technicians to take the panels and install them at the next person’s property waiting for an install. This reduces the risk for homeowners that want green energy as their credit will not be ruined if they can’t make payments. Instead their solar panels will be repossessed and distributed to others in the fund.
In order to protect people paying into the fund there will be a requirement that you pay the installation cost into the fund before you qualify to receive panels. Therefore if the installation is $3,000 and the panels are $10,000 the homeowner would need to pay $3,000 into the fund before they are given a slot in line to receive panels. This requirement will be considered with other factors to decide what order you will be placed in the fund. We will try to adhere to the order in which people began paying into the fund and this will be another factor considered and voted on.
Each homeowner that has signed up with the fund will receive an estimate for a solar array on their property. The Beautica project will help coordinate these estimates and document the estimate process for the project. Homeowners will need to agree that their estimates be published on the site and become available to other members so that we can discuss and vote on which properties should be accommodated first.
As stated, each homeowner’s payments into the fund will be tracked and accounted for. Each member will receive an account that tracks their payments and total balance in the fund. They will receive equal value for all payments made into the fund. In order to make the fund viable the value paid into the fund will be paid out at the tail end of each members contract. In other words if a homeowner/member pays $3,000 into the fund, receives their array, and begins making $100 monthly payments into the fund; they will not have to make their last 30 payments at the end of their contract. If their contract specifies $100 monthly payments for 15 years the member in this example would be able to stop paying into the fund at 12 years and 6 months and their contract would be fulfilled.
Again all contracts payed out of the fund will be at 0% interest and have very low risk to a homeowner’s creditworthiness if they default. We will be looking for board members to form the non-profit that will help on a voluntary basis at least to begin with. In addition to board members we will be looking for a computer science person or persons that can help develop the website and platform for the project.
We are hopeful that we can introduce phase 2 of the Beautica project in the fall of 2023. Phase 2 will focus on subsidizing green energy for urban areas and properties that do not have a large enough yard for a solar array. Please check this site again in the fall if you are interested in an update on Phase 2.
The fundraising and media coverage for the Beautica project will appropriately focus on Utica, PA and specifically French Creek Farms campground. There are multiple buildings on this property that can function as “model homes” for the solar arrays and their systems. They will be available for people to come and view in person. Mitch can arrange for estimates to take place at French Creek Farms and document the estimates with media equipment to publish on the internet. This will be valuable to acquiring members for the fund and promoting the project.
Mitch would like to thank the owners of French Creek Farms and Krabby Kelly’s for their support. The first fundraiser is to sell the “American” shirts below. They are available at the Krabby Kelly’s convenience store in Utica, Pa or can be shipped upon request. Money raised through the sale of these shirts will be used to develop the website for the fund. Any money not used for the website development will be put into the fund as seed money. If you would like to help in any regard please fill out the email form below. Thanks.
