One of the major problems with the United States is the profit driven media system. This system prioritizes and frames information in a way that will maximize profit rather than calmly and responsibly presenting information. That is why I am proposing a new internet platform that is designed to feature messages from higher education professors. By featuring and prioritizing information from these professional teachers we can change the course of the United States and maybe other nations.
66 is an internet platform that collects short video clips for use on a streaming channel. The entire endeavor will be as transparent as possible with a direct democracy element to help with development. 66 will be established as a non-profit for the duration of its existence.
Post-secondary professors will be able to set up an account through the platform by confirming their current employment with a paystub. Once they have an account they will be able to upload a 66 second video about any subject they think is important for the public to know. Account holders can present the information in any way they think will gain traction on the platform.
Account holders can vote on what 66 second segments should be moved up in importance. The video segments will be collected for the streaming channel to be shown between 7am-9am and 5pm-7pm in each time zone. These time slots are the most desirable and be considered the tier 1 time-slot. There will be a tiered system for the remaining hours based from most desirable to least desirable.
The 66 second videos will be voted into a tier by account holders. The idea is that if the concept of the video is not important to account holders or not factual in nature it will not get voted into a tier and not make it onto the streaming channel. Each month we will lock in the videos for each hour that are not the 4 hours of tier 1. The videos not in tier 1 will repeat for the designated hour for an entire month.
The goal is to produce new content for the tier 1 hours each weekday. Each time an account holder gets a video voted into a tier they are allotted a new 66 second video to upload. If account holders have multiple 66 second videos on the platform they may be granted a longer video of 6 minutes and 66 seconds to further develop their concept. These 7:06 minute videos will be featured during specific hours or may lead off certain hours of different tiers.
Security will be of upmost importance and the information of each higher education professor will be protected. This is important because the post secondary educator may present information that is not accepted by the mainstream of their country. Each account holder must try to present their information in the least aggravating way possible rather than appealing to emotion as main stream media typically does. The 66 platform will make a good faith effort to protect the identities of account holders that present information designed to inform and not promote protest.
In order to pay for the platform in its initial phases we will ask account holders to make a $5 per year donation. Once we have developed the platform we are hoping to fund the non-profit with grants and donation from the public much like other public media. We are looking for computer science professors and grant writers to help launch the 66 platform.
Please use the contact form on this site if you would like to help. Feel free to copy this document and send it to your favorite professor encouraging them to also send it to their colleagues. Thank you for any help you can offer.
